I guess you have been wondering. Where is this long awaited new song of Lin’s? Well Sadly Lin has been unwell. After feeling unwell for most of the summer, Lin visited her doctor and was sent for numerous tests. Lin was diagnosed with extensive stage Small Cell Lung Cancer. The prognoses, without chemotherapy is not good. Lin was told she would need to have chemotherapy starting immediately. Lin was asked if she would like to think about taking part in a new trail for the treatment of this type of cancer. Ipilimumab http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipilimumab please check out the link to read about this drug that has already proved to be successful in other types of cancer. Lin feels she has nothing to lose and everything to gain so has chosen to take part in this trial. Ipilimumab is introduced to the chemotherapy Carbplatin and Etoposide on the 3rd session; so far she has had 2 chemo sessions. Lin’s 3rd session is on the 4th November 2011. Hopefully Lin will soon be able to write her own blogs on how this treatment is going.
