Lin Duffy: Music/Video/Radio
Dreamaker & Video
(Lin Duffy)
Written, Arranged & Produced by Lin Duffy & Carol Leech ©1992
Here is an interesting fact regarding the history of 'Dreamaker'. When Lin first wrote the lyrics the song was originally entitled, 'Broken Dreams'. Although Lin wrote the lyrics a few years earlier, the music was composed in 1992 & then the complete song was finished. A few years later Lin with her great lyric & vocal talent ideas enabled her to write a new piece for the song. This is the chorus section you hear in the song - 'Dreamaker come to me, dreamaker stay' etc.
This new piece has given the song much more depth & emotion which you can hear Lin express as she sings it. The piece also has a catchy feel about it & has created the theme of the song. In fact when you watch the video you can see how Lin portrays the longing to carry on with the dream of that special loved one with the help of the 'Dreamaker'.
This is the title track from the forthcoming debut album "Dreamaker".
Dreamaker Lyrics
Somebody called out I was sure it was you
I saw your face, in full view
It was only a dream, just my broken dream
Crying, crying, crying, I’m crying
Crying out loud in my sleep
Tossing and turning in dreams.
Switch on the light.
I’m all alone
Crying, crying, over you
I’m lying most nights, waiting for sleep
And when it comes I’m tormented
Going out of my head, from the things that you said
Crying, crying, crying, I’m crying
Dreamaker, come to me, dreamaker, stay
Let me dream, let me sleep, till the break of day
Dreamaker, Dreamaker,
Dreamaker, you make the dreams,
Dreamaker I’m begging you please. Please
Dreamaker come to me, dreamaker stay
Let me dream, let me sleep, till the break of day
Dreamaker out there please hear my prayer
and leave my dreams undisturbed
the nights are so lonely, so cold so lonely
Crying, crying, crying,
I’m crying
Dreamaker, you make the dreams
Dreamaker I’m begging you please. Please
Dreamaker, dreamaker wont you come to me yeah
Let me dream, let me sleep,
Till the break of day
