WoW!
What a kick start this year as been so far. It’s just wonderful. So many things lined up for me I can barely think straight.
My debut album has been released and I have planned a CD signing with my album at a local Record Store, Weasels Records in Shirley, Southampton.
Ok so its not a main street store because unless you are signed to a major record company the big stores don’t want to know, so where else can you try but a store that sells records willing to let you hold the event there. Also a Radio Interview to show case my debut album “Dreamaker” at Link FM in Romford, Essex, with Radio Presenter Tony Nugus.
Well since I last wrote things have now happened. I have had my CD Signing at Weasels Records in Shirley, Southampton on 16th February and what a great day that was; there is a slide show on the home page of the day’s activities. Really was a fun time and the after party was cool too. My backing vocalist who were all there together, Di, Lucky and Elana AKA “Voice2Voice” we had a cool jam session. We hadn’t sung together collectively for almost 2 years so we were all surprised that we remembered most of the words lol and we all had a good laugh. We were also joined by Tony Nugus (Link FM 92.2 radio presenter) and his wife Gill who travelled down from Essex to be with us for this day. We are hoping to hold another CD signing when the weather improves, again somewhere in Southampton, venue not as yet confirmed, and in other towns in the UK too.

On the 1st March myself and my amazing team! Carol, Di and Mandy travelled to Romford, Essex Nr London to meet up with Tony Nugus at Link FM and to record an hour long show dedicated to me and my debut album “Dreamaker” what a great experience that was. Tony and the other members of Link FM that were there on the day made us all very welcome and the show went really well. It is to be broadcast on Link FM 92.2 at 7PM GMT on Friday 7th March ad repeated on Friday 14th March at 3PM GMT. This is coming up to my 30th year as a singer/songwriter.
I’ve had lots of highs and many lows over those years.
I have been in Bands, Duo’s &.Trio’s and Solo with back up vocals.
I am now Solo, with guest back up vocals from many of the great voices that have worked closely with me for many years.
I do what I do because I love it, I just love to sing and write songs.
I have my own studio where I go for hours on end and just lose myself.
I love the arranging of vocals finding new ideas to the great covers that I do and try to make them my own by putting my own stamp on them.
Now with the power of the internet, many of us with bedroom converted home studio’s can be heard all over the world wow!
The chances that can come from the internet are immense but above all, not having to send endless demos out to major record companies that very rarely get listened to and without even getting a reply, after your hours of work and passion and probably end up chucked in the bin.
Well that doesn’t have to happen now with all the different sites like “Myspace,” “Facebook” and many more including a new one just started out for musicians. “Music Town” The Free Social Community For the Entertainer, also a part of D and M Music.
You can go open an account on any of these sites and the whole world can be your audience.
There are also lots of Independent Record Company’s now who can sometimes offer greater opportunities than some of the major ones and can be found on the Internet.
One such company I have been favourably connected to is D and M Records. Now a signed independent artist on their Label, I am certain that I have a fantastic musical career ahead of me.
My debut album “Dreamaker” has been released on the D and M Record Label. I am so honoured to have been chosen to join their fine family of artists.
Starting back in October 2007, I was entered in a music talent contest and received news from D and M Music in the USA that I was a winner of the "talent search" contest.
The Songs 'You Don't Know Me' & 'Smile' proved to be two winning entries!
What an achievement to have more than one winning entry
These songs are included in a special CD called 'New Horizons' which is now on sale.

Well to be honest haven’t really been out of it much over Christmas. I went back in on Boxing Day trying out new songs for my new album. A Soft Rock One. When I first started out I was in Rock Bands doing rock stuff I never thought about doing or was even into but it was my way in to a band. That was by accident too, I was standing in for a friend of mine, whose sister was supposed to be singing for his band and had let him down, so I went along in her place and that was it. I was hooked. So before I get to past it!! LOL. I am gonna give it another shot. Bringing out Classic Rock Tracks most of us know and love to sing a long with but this time with production and lots of muso friends guesting on backing vocals
"Dabosstudio" has A Brand New Fostex VF160EX 16 track digital Recorder. Well in case you’re wondering how I have been doing my recordings. I will try to explain. After I work out a kinda format for the songs I choose and then working out the format of the songs and finding the right key, that sometimes can be quite time consuming, sometimes easy peesy. I record them directly into the PC via Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro sound card, recording down onto creative media suite. My music comes in midi file format and is played back through a midi sequencer. I use a Notator sequencer program run on Atari ST a long term trusted pc friend and the Roland JV1080 sound module, industry standard for many years.
Those of you still with me hehe then its ready and I put them on my site. With the new Fostex thingy though wow! It should be something else. I have 16 tracks to play with so producing these songs will be Ace. Looking forward to tomorrow, well its now today actually its 1 25 AM to be precise so I best go get my vocal sleep, not beauty lol gave that up long time ago. Much love Lin xxx

For almost 3 months now everyday has been a continuous buzz.. the biggest of all of course is the fact that D and M Records have given me an amazing opportunity by signing me to their record label and producing my debut album "Dreamaker", now released & being distributed worldwide for digital downloads on itunes, eMusic, Rhapsody, and many more in the coming months. Its physical form is also available now, & is currently being distributed.
The songs I have chosen are songs that have special memories for me. The album is packed with timeless classics. Go to the buy page and link to D and M Music store and you can review clips of the tracks.
I am overwhelmed at all of this and quite honestly I find it all hard to believe, I keep pinching myself LOL.
Meanwhile I have been in the studio working on some Christmas songs. I will be putting them on here as soon as possible. If anyone has a special Christmas song that they would like me to try please leave a message on my guestbook/request page and I will certainly try to recreate them for you. I have had a busy weekend recording 3 new songs, songs that both my late parents would have appreciated; they have now been added to my music page.
The songs I have chosen are songs from my musical roots, songs I grew up on.
Perry Como. Matt Monroe & Shirley Bassey. My dad was a big, big fan of Shirley Bassey and my mum loved Matt’s voice and songs. The songs I have chosen to cover are 2 of Matt’s, ‘Softly as I leave you’ and ‘Walk away’ and 1 of Shirley’s ‘Never, never, never’. Hope you enjoy listening to them. I certainly enjoyed singing them and also found it very emotional. Both my parents loved music and on Sundays in our house as in many other homes from that generation, we had the radio on from morning till late. Two way family favourites, ‘Sing something simple’ and on TV in the evenings ’The Black and White Minstrel Show’. I have had a very varied musical background. Having two older brothers and a sister, I was also introduced to music from the 50’s and then of course my own generation 60’sand 70’s. I love music of most genres but lately doing the old stuff has been thrilling. There are so many songs from the past that are timeless classics, I am sure there is still a market for the good old songs of yesteryear.

Hi there Dreamakers!!
Who have helped to make my dreams come true!!
My dreams have certainly started to come true as of late. First of all, this fabulous website designed and maintained by Carol, Mandy and Di, back in April. I would like to once again say a huge, thank you and lots of love to you all for your support, love and belief in me. I couldn’t have done any of this without anyone of you. Also a big thanks to my other friends and acquaintances for their support throughout the years. Also!! Manchester City Football Club doing so well in the prem so far this season. Come on Sven. Things are really looking up for me. (incase you didn't already know, I am passionate about my team)

• DREAMAKER
I wrote the lyrics for Dreamaker about 19 years ago and with the help of my song writing partner Carol Leech. (Love you Carol xx.) We put it together a few years later. The song has special different meanings for myself and Carol, hers for her late father Charlie and mine for Di’s late brother Ray Selby. Over the years the feed back from this song has been phenomenal. We have now recreated this song in a video format. Hope you enjoy it.
